OK yesterday after work I was bored stiff so I popped by the local cinema to see if there’s anything interesting on show. Well, there was this Hancock film whose teaser trailer looked quite cool with Will Smith saving a whale by heaving it out to sea. OK you know what I’m talking about.

The show time was like an hour an a half away so I thought fuck it. But there was one Thai film on show and it’d been ages since I last saw one so I decided to give it a go.

It’s called Friendship เธอกับฉัน (You and Me) and the story line was rather predictable with all the usual Thai teenage bollocks - school kids fucking about getting pissed to their faces, chatting birds up, forming gangs terrorising people, whoring, you name it.

Don’t want to go into too much detail but the film ended in a ‘tragedy’ with one of the lads being stabbed to death by his gang rivals, the leading actress getting gang-banged by those same bastards who also infected her with HIV only for the leading actor to find out 10 years later before, surprise surprise, she died in his arms.

Predictably, a couple of people - mainly girls of course - were reduced to tears and to make things worse they made sure everyone else noticed that too. Yeah, yeah I know it’s tragic but, hey people, it’s made-up which means it’s not real and so I don’t understand why so many people had to cry their balls off. Just got on my tits big time.

Also, as you can see, the lead looks like a real wimp and in violence-stricken England he’d get bullied day in day out by multiple chavs without a shadow of a doubt. Apparently, the Thais like him a lot because he’s mixed and white-skinned. Hmmm, another bigoted racist piece of crap.

To be brutally honest, this film was a total let down and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless you’re so bored with absolutely bugger all to do. For me, that’s another 120 baht blown out of the window. And for sure, never again for Thai teenage films - absolute rubbish. Or is it just me?
