Rainy Bangkok
Over the past couple of days, we’ve had a bit of rain here in Bangkok. The rain has caused an awful lot of problems for everyone, especially those having to commute to and from work daily - myself included. The other day it rained so bloody hard that the soi where I live was flooded forcing me to get a motorbike taxi or else.
When it rains, the Bangkok traffic is made twice as shit. Not just that. The BTS sky train that I use to commute every day gets absolutely packed and it’s almost impossible to stand somewhere comfortably. The operator always says “Attention please, for the convenience of all passengers, please move inside the train away from door areas. Thank you.” I wanna tell them that they just need to run more bloody trains at peak periods!
I find the rain in Bangkok and Thailand in general more annoying because when it rains, it fucking pisses it down. In England, the rain is more consistent and you can wear a waterproof coat or jacket but here it just rains on and off and you can only use a brolly which is bloody gay in my book!
But as they say, always look on the bright side of life. When it starts chucking it down, sometimes a power cut follows and this has happened in our office before a couple of times. Yes, no power, no work, so we all get to relax and chill out. And if lucky, you’re let off early too!
What about you? Do you enjoy the rains? Is lightning romantic and sexy?
Personally, I always like it dry and only want to get wet when I want to haha ![]()
