Nunglen Club, Ekamai
In Bangkok there’s tonnes of wicked bars and of all sorts for everyone. Today I’m going to talk about another club in soi Ekamai which is apparently run by the son of the owner of Singha beer and is also extremely popular among many, including some of my mates. It’s called Nunglen meaning ’sitting about’ which is ironic in that you can hardly get to stand in there comfortably let alone sitting about. Anyway, here’s my review:
The decor: As with Curve and Jet in Ekamai, Nunglen has two separate rooms, one for live music and the other for a mix of house/trance and hip hop hits. The exterior of the club is not the most attractive in the world if I must be honest. In fact it looks pretty moderate compared to neighbouring Curve and Jet possibly because it’s been around for so much longer than the other two. The main hall where live music is on offer is an ordinary rectangular room with a somewhat limited walking space. The other room is smaller but looks more decent with relative modernity.
The music: Live music in the main big room with all the familiar love tunes being repeatedly played throughout the night and a selection of trance/house and hip hop hits in the other smaller room called Esco Bar.
The crowd: According to many, Nunglen is your typical hiso club in the Ekamai/Thonglor area. The selling point most people agree on is its ability to attract a good number of good-looking party goers typically composed of uni students and office workers, mostly in their twenties. As with Jet and Curve, Nunglen is busy every night but it gets particularly jam packed at weekends.
The price: Whiskey 1300 baht (Red Label), mixers 60 baht, beer (Singha) 150 baht
* Nunglen is the only club in Bangkok that shuts once a week on Sundays so don’t be surprised if you turn up and it’s completely dead! *

I’ve been there many times and it’s the best club in bangkok i’ve ever visited (i hardly go clubbing though hehe). Love it!

yeah its a good club but it’d be so much better if they limit the number of people let in or better still stop too many blokes getting inside!

As you know this pub is my best too. Appreciate for what you write, but here are some comments. You should mentions that around Ekamai road Nunglen pub play the best Thai band music among others. Girls there are quite awesome + you need to get there before 7.30 at the weekend or else there won’t be a place for you to sit (See how famous it was). Overall i lov’in it gorgeous review.
